TD Bank is recognized as one of the top banks in the North American sector, boasting a significant footprint in Canada.

This card is tailored specifically for travel-related benefits, catering to individuals with travel needs.

The bank’s rewards system operates on TD Rewards Points, allowing you to accumulate up to $1,000 in value with 20,000 points after your initial purchase and 115,000 points when you spend at least $5,000 within the first 180 days.

The annual fee is set at $139, with an extra $50 charge for each additional cardholder; however, the fee is waived during the first year.

You can earn TD Rewards points based on your spending categories: 8 points for every $1 spent on travel booked through Expedia, and 6 points for every $1 spent on groceries and dining.

Moreover, you earn 4 points on bill payments and regular services and 2 points for every $1 spent in all other categories. Additionally, you receive 10,000 points as a birthday bonus on your anniversary.

The redemption options for rewards are also quite appealing, as points can be exchanged for travel discounts, credit card bill payments, purchases on Amazon.com, Starbucks, and statement credits. Here are some of the travel benefits included:

  • $100 TD travel credit annually
  • Emergency assistance services
  • Insurance coverage for medical needs, delayed baggage, flight delays, trip cancellations, and hotel theft.
