Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card full review
Check out what this card can do for you if you want to make the most of the nights you spend at the Marriott hotels!
What do I need to know about the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card?
When looking for a new credit card, Marriott Bonvoy members might have come across a pleasant surprise: The Bonvoy Bold card offers many of the same perks as the more upmarket annual fee version.
Cardholders will receive 15 Elite Night credits to help them advance to higher status levels, Silver Elite status (and the advantages that come with it) at Marriott Bonvoy locations, as well as Visa Signature benefits like lost baggage insurance.
The most affordable choice from the well-known hotel brand is the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card. Without paying an annual fee, you can earn more Marriott points and benefit from a few hotel amenities.
After you spend $1,000 on purchases during the first three months of opening your account, you will receive 30,000 extra points as a welcome incentive.
It’s a reasonable option for clients who are searching for lower minimum spending criteria and don’t want to pay an annual fee, even if there is potential to earn much greater benefits.
How does Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card work?
With the Bold card, points are easy to earn but take time.
In addition to the usual 2.5 to 10 points per dollar earned through the program, charges at Marriott Bonvoy properties earn 3 Bonvoy points for every dollar spent.
All Bonvoy Bold cardholders automatically become Silver Elite members, who earn 10% extra on top of that.
Spending on travel outside the Marriott family earns two points for every dollar. Every additional $1 earns one point.
Each time you receive a statement, the rewards you earn are credited to your Marriott Bonvoy account and are automatically added to any points you have already accrued.
This not only makes balances increase more quickly, but it also keeps your Bonvoy account open.
As long as you engage in activity at least once every 24 months and credit card charges are taken into account, rewards won’t expire.
After making $1,000 in transactions over the first three months after opening their account, new cards can earn 30,000 extra points.
Select Marriott hotels will accept the welcome incentive to cover one night’s stay, or numerous nights if you make wise choices. You can also choose to store up your points for more expensive, high-end redemptions.
Anyone who has had this or another Marriott credit card currently or within the last 24 months is not eligible for the welcome bonus.
How do you use your points?
For every basic room that is available on any given night at any property, Marriott Bonvoy points may be redeemed. The search feature on the Marriott website makes it simple to verify prices, which vary depending on the property and the date of the stay.
In general, limited-service properties can be found for as little as 10,000 points during off-peak times, while luxury properties can cost 100,000 points or more during peak times. Using Cash + Points, Marriott Bonvoy members may book awards for as little as $55 and 3,500 points per night.
Additionally, Marriott Bonvoy points can be used to purchase event and entertainment packages through Marriott Bonvoy Moments.
Wherever Marriott has properties, you can find these event packages, which have various point requirements. The majority of events also offer VIP perks while attending.
How much money can you save with this card?
If all of the family’s hotel stays were at Marriott establishments, the $1,110 they spent on lodging would result in 3,330 Bonvoy points, while their $2,652 in other travel expenses would result in 5,004 points.
On the basis of 1 point for every $1 spent, the remaining credit charges would be worth 28,310 points. In addition to the first-year welcome bonus, this results in a potential annual earning of 36,644 Bonvoy points.
Taking into consideration that every point is worth roughly 0.7 cents, we are talking about something around $ 256.50.
